Horse Expo is:

A celebration of the horse.
A showcase for equestrian clubs and organisations.
Displays by breed societies and clubs.
A comprehensive display of the latest equestrian products and services.
Practical equine demonstrations by a range of experts.
Equestrian-themed entertainment.
Supporting the international charity, Riding for the Disabled. Previous Horse Expos have raised $2500 for this charity.

There will be many exciting new attractions at Horse Expo NZ 2009. The major highlight this year is the World Cup in Heavy Horse Shoeing. The World Cup is an international event, normally held every two years, alternating between Australia and New Zealand. The cup is currently held by Australia, and was not competed for in 2007 because of the equine flu outbreak. Teams will come from Kumeu, Wellington, the Wairarapa, Queenstown, Central Districts and Australia.

NRM Equine expert Richard Brosnan will be representing NRM at the RD1 trade site at this event.
