I tried to seperate her from the rest of the herd - but they all had a spastic about it - so i thought id leave her with them and see how it all went. They all stood guard around her while she gave birth and all helped her clean it up as say hello and watched it get up. but since then they have left her alone and are great with the foal. so gentle and caring. When it sleeps they all stand around it ina circle. With my animals I like to keep things as natural and as close to what they do in the wild - so I think this has worked well. If anyone gets too close my mare knows when to step in. |
