I think he has been able to throw a few out of the box and they are fantastic, but if I was considering him the fact that there are so many 'average level' horses thrown from him that I wouldn't be that keen to produce something from him!

But hey, each to their own!

Taihoa's Tai has soooo much potential and hes mega huge!! hes not average! hes amazing! and pintodesperado is amazing! how could a horse like that be "average when he was the daddy to gandolf!

silly people!

No one said that Tai hasn't got potential, but just because Desperado sired one (so far) Olympic doesn't make him the worlds best sire, and there are a lot of stallions out there with a much larger list of talented progeny :) No one is saying he's not a nice stallion, just that they prefer other stallions :)

soph is just being a good friend and defending me.  alot of these comments are aimed at me ;)  i don't really care - their opinion doesn't change fact

I'm not aiming at you (if that's what you're meaning) :) I'm just not that fussed about him :) I know that his progeny that are being trained well are making/will make fantastic competition horses as they are talented, I guess a lot of them just haven't had the training or they have been used for pleasure or as broodies or something, coz for a 17 year old stallion he doesn't really have that many "up there" progeny, though I do believe he spent some time as a competiton horse rather than a serving stallion so perhaps this is why.

I didnt get any comments directed at you Taihoa :???:

I agree with everyone else.  He's alright.  Definately could think of other stallions I would put a mare to.  The only Pintado Desperado I've seen down here is Pintado Clip Art, who has the laziest knees ever!!!

He's nice enough, but personally I think there are some much nicer stallions out ther :) I wouldn't hesistate to put my mare to him as such, but he DEFINITELY wouldn't be my first option. There are plenty of stallions who've competed to high levels and produced Olympic offspring, and to me, he didn't really stand out all that much until Gandalf, then there was like this big craze? If that makes sense? He is nice though :)

hes thrown some VERY talented foals. Most of his babys can jump the moon with a bloody nice style, they have a pretty level head on them too.

i also like the fact that hes proven himself.

i like him. hes one of the options i have for Paige atm, if hes still standing next season.
