BLING RR Governer (5158) | yep you do now. I think the qualification is one novice champion but it's a new rule so might be altered next year. They are running rising star like a major title in the main ring now though which is cool cos it was always a bit of a let down previously

Lollie RR Vice President (26088) | Ooookay thanks, I think I get it now Do you have to qualify for rising star at HOY?
Sorry for so many Qs

BLING RR Governer (5158) | champions don't count as wins. Since you are doing novice classes you would be expected to do walk, trot, canter on both reins, simple changes usually through trot but the odd judge will make a novice do it through walk and some judges may ask for lengthen strides in trot and a gallop or lengthening of strides in canter

BLING RR Governer (5158) | you can't ride an open pony but you can ride a novice pony in novice classes. There aren't novice and open rings at A&P's just novice and open classes in the same ring. It is 6 wins in a novice conformation class and your pony is classed open for conformation classes (so as an adult you can't ride in open conformation classes whether the pony is novice or not) and then the same for paced and mannered

Lollie RR Vice President (26088) | Oh, and what sort of work outs do you have to do for open pony?

Lollie RR Vice President (26088) | Is that 6 wins as in just 6 red ribbons, or 6 champions? Haha I'm so useless at this!

Can you really do open pony classes as an adult?!?!?! OMG!!!

BLING RR Governer (5158) | inhand bridles have buckles for the throat strap on both sides I think and the noseband threads through loops in the cheek pieces. Unless you wana do big turnouts and be real serious about inhand showing just use your normal bridle. Neither is more correct but most people use a flashy one, unless a plain one enhances the head more hten you'd use a plain one

Lollie RR Vice President (26088) | How does an inhand bridle differ from a normal flat caveson? And if I just used my flat caveson is a flashy browband or plain more correct?
Sorry for so many questions

BLING RR Governer (5158) | I think horses over 3 years have to wear a bit. most preferable is an inhand bridle and lead but lots of people just use their normal show bridle. most people wear a suit type outfit but you can wear your riding gear. Why can't you ride angel at a&p's??

Lollie RR Vice President (26088) | Oh, also, she has a scar on her face? I guess this will get us marked down in the turnout classes??

|
Lollie RR Vice President (26088) | Since I can't ride Angel at A&Ps any longer I'm considering doing some inhand with her (I'm thinking next season now now), presumably you can have an adult handler for a pony?
And I'm guessing turnout is the same as for showing for the horse? Is it preferable to have a bridle with a flashy browband or a leather halter and lead?
For the handler, is it preferable to have a suit type outfit and hat, or show riding attire?
Umm... think these are my only questions... Any tips?
