Evelyn RR Governer (6426) | The requirement for Opening the gate is 'Mounted' but is not often included as it takes so much time.
No-one EVER fails for stuffing up one part of the test - if they fail its because they have got below the required standard through several parts of the exam.

horsie_gurl RR Citizen (663) | Okay cool thanks =] . I asked my p.c instructor & she said if they ask you to do it mounted you have to & i was like im sure you have a choice of mounted or unmounted haha .

Bilbo1 RR Governer (6682) | No you wouldn't fail the whole thing if it was slighlty messed up - you should be able to do it mounted or unmounted and most of the time we simply ask the students how they should do it as we don't have many suitable gates available

blitz.u.all RR Addict (4855) | we didnt get asked to open or close a gate, im pretty sure for C if they did, you would be allowed to dismount and show how to safely open and close the gate while leading your horse (thats from memory so not sure it its 100% correct) im pretty sure they wouldnt make you do it mounted though.

horsie_gurl RR Citizen (663) | Just wondering when you sit your C certificate do they always ask you to open/close a gate mounted?
& if you muck up the gate, do you fail your whole C cert?
