Cool - thanks for the headsup. I think I might make a purchase.
Yip - the covers are those with the pads. I emailed Prestige as they distribute them in NZ - RRP $249. Might even be cheaper to purchase direct through the site. I don't have my guys covered this season after reading about what rugging does to them, but the cool heat rugs seem like a good alternative option. |
same here-we don't rug unless it's REALLY windy and cold or raining so hard he might get rainscold so our covers might only get used once or twice a year-so it would be nice to have a dry horse in the winter from time to time so i can ride. |
Rainscald isn't caused by heavy rain It's a bacterial infection caused by a bacteria that multiplies super quick in warm, moist conditions So it's generally more likely to happen if your horse gets sweaty (warm and moist) under a rug than if they're unrugged |
well then it must be something else

P0nes Executive Jockey (491) | Ha! I know the feeling. My black girl gets so muddy she goes totally 'grey'! Very annoying...spend more time grooming than I do riding.

Just visited that site - very interesting. Anyone know what the nose bands (the ones you can put on a normal bridle to change to bitless) are like? |
Im thinking i might get one of those |
If there the like one of the ones i have-i have the light rider performer i think with the antigall noseband- it works well for me and my horse-not harsh because of the padding kinda looks like the back of an anti gall girth..

I saw the Macs Cool Heat covers on there too - might invest. |
are those the covers that have the little pads on the inside-we might be getting one as soon as we find the right fit too.

BlueFlame RR Citizen (774) | naturalhorseworld.com i'm not sure what expensive is to you but Cynthia Cooper has a good range and you can even change some of them from chin strap activated to side pull or normal rope halter-clip on reins.
