Im new to the whole mini showing thing, and need some help! I was hoping to show my little guy in the up and coming A&P show this year, but Im not too sure how it all works?
Im pretty sure Georgie is a cat B. I have his temporary certificate of regestration (which has expired) as well as a height certificate from when he was a yearling. These will need renewing, I presume?
Ive been told that he has shown before, but in what, Idk. I think he is probs best suited to a jumping class (hes quite keen jumping and can jump upto 1m) or an obstacle class (he's pretty fearless)
Is there a site or something that explains all of the classes? E.g, what you have to do, rules, what to wear, etc? Ive tried looking at the NZMHA site, but didnt really find much
Any help would be appreciated (:

Hi there
Go to www.nzmha.co.nz and under the "Members/Forms" link at the top there are the rules "Constitution and Rules (329KB) Show Rules (684KB) Fees and Subscriptions"
They will give you most of the info you are seeking. and yes you will need to renew his certificate.
as far as clothing, anything neat and tidy. Most wear english or Western. It is no different to how people show the big horses in hand. A Tidy suit/english style usually does best in adult(over 18) presentation class's, but you may fall under youth or senior youth depending on your age
Have a go at every class and have fun
Were abouts are you situated? |
