with charm i sat up really tall, collected her right in, and then asked quite strongly with my outside leg (at first - only needed it to be a nudge once she had got it), i kept my leg there until she went up into canter.
if she trotted i brought her straight back to walk and started again from scratch.

i know people teach their horses to go from walk-canter using a click with their tongue

this probably isnt the way to teach it. but i got Paige all excited, then brought her to a really collected walk then asked the aid to canter and she went straight into canter.

Then i slowly made her less excited each time, and now i dont have to make her excited anymore, we just go from a nice walk to a nice canter..

Probably NOT the right way to teach it but it worked for me hahaha
