ergh I just had a blue yakult and it meant to be low sugar tasted really sweet, not like the ones in the UK might pay to talk to a nutritionist before giving to your horse. It has sugar, skim milk powder (latose?) polydextrose, dextrose, flavouring, sweetner and L casei shirota strain. Not something id fed to my horse

I just chucked one a day in her feed for 6 days and after that she was gaining weight brilliantly, so I'm not gonna complain :) Know of someone else who uses it for their rescue cases too and it works brilliantly. I used to red one though if that makes any difference? I don't know.

Yech, no wonder it tasted sweet! Those are all sugars.

The L. casei is shorthand for Lactobacillus casei. Shirota is the particular strain in Yakult (named after the guy that developed it).

I just fed one pack to Ghost - 1 little pottle per day, and she started gaining SO much more weight.

Most feed stores and saddlers should stock something.
