Have all the horses been rehomed? I never heard anything from the lady :(

These aren't SPCA ones, this is one for a friend who is now is OZ, SPCA ones are turning into a drama, turns out there was a big drug bust and police and gang members are involved. So I've told her not to contact anyone until they know what is going on. Don't want to put anyone at risk!!

Oh I see! Fair enough! Thanks :) Wow that's crazy! Poor ponies :(

REALLY CRAZY!!  The -: Brownie :- has hit the fan :). They are still taking ponies off the property slowly, but yeah it's a bit scary now!!

Haha, well this season I will be learning how to cut caslicks open myself ... The  boss told me that the other day, I was like, are you freaking kidding me?!?!?!

Haha jeeelous! Wish I was still working on a stud farm!

It's good fun, isn't it? I'd thoroughly recommend working on a stud for anyone who's interested in learning about breeding and foaling etc. I like it where I work, been there 5 months now. We do everything from getting mares in foal through to breaking in.

I was working on a SJ and stud farm at the start of the year but I had to leave coz my health is just way too out of whack at the mo :(

whats caslick?

It is where the back end of a mare is basically stitched closed - nowadays it's a little more refined tho' the vet makes a sort of wound on both 'flaps' and sticks them together and the stitches dissolve. They have to be re-opened before foaling.
It is a proceedure that is sometimes done on filly's and mares that make a windsucky noise through the backend while doing faster work too.
It helps prevent the mare losing the foal.

ala does that wind noise after fast work. what is it is it bad? :P
