FYI I asked penny for more info :)

We have been selling the Mycosorb toxin binder for quite a few years now -
and our customers have been very happy with it and for a long time Alltech
(who make it)  have pretty much had the monopoly on toxin binders in NZ - as
it was the only one available here and it is the active toxin binder used in
products like Equi-guard, Tox-defy, Toxin Aid+  staggers nuts etc and of
course Alltech are now marketing it directly to the retail horse sector
themselves (or at least through a company that contracts to them).

However we have now starting selling the Mycoguard as well for a couple of
reasons .. Firstly there are quite a few horses (including one of our own)
who really do not like the taste or smell of the Mycosorb, but the Mycoguard
has a slightly sweeter smell and most horses seem to find it more palatable.
And secondly, from all the literature I have read, it does seem that the
Mycoguard covers a broader range of toxins.  \

The Mycoguard is a little cheaper, but does have a higher dose rate though.
The dose rates for both products are on the flyer, so I shall attach a copy
to this email.

As far as I know, mycotoxin binder is an Alltech product and mycoguard is a Lallamand product.  Check though :)

Nope that's the more expensive one, the cheaper one apparently smells sweeter (better for fussy eaters) and covers a wider range of toxins - I'll let you know how it goes :)

I think (but don't quote me on it) that they are two different active ingredients, and they come from different suppliers.

Give the cheaper one a try and see what happens.  Could save yourself some moneys :D
