Wasn't the one this morning around 8am a whole new earthquake of a different fault line?

GAH just had to lodge an insurance claim... thought we had gotten off ok... But with all these after shocks (200+) our house is failing us :( Cracked foundations under the carpet, uneven floor, door frames loose, outside bricks cracked, ceiling sunken... don't know how many more the house will take before its classed as dangerous... especially considering the roof is affected!

i felt it in Alexandra. I woke up with mum in a state on the phone.
Our house is okay but lots of our friends around Kaiapoi are now homeless. I havent seen the damage yet as im still at Telford, but term ends in a few weeks so will be home then.

Currently at my grandmothers, Our house is a mess and getting worse with all the after shocks. We looking for a new place but thats easier said then done especially at a time like this lol. Moms work is also ruined so no work until thats all fixed up. So we're homeless and jobless. Oh the joy

One think i'm sick of is all the people traveling to my town just to see what it all looks like, I mean there are more then enough photos and videos on the net that they don't have to invade our roads when we're trying to clean up. The place will look just as bad next week when its settled down a bit, The banks aren't just going to magically repair themselves and the buildings aren't just going to right themselves. Grrr so frustrating. Especially when they clog up our streets and attempt to drive over the river bank causing it to fall apart even more :( So frustrating, *rant over* haha

Awww :( You should baricade the st at each end and have someone on duty to tell them if they want to come in they have to live there or have to help clean up and hand them a spade :P

We do have a cordon at the start of our area but people still manage to get through when they have no reason to D: and the motorway ramps are always clogged, We have to go via the motorway to go up to the road to the shop due to our main road being munted lol.
