but isnt it good for mares to look like they hav long backs
especially in mare classes to show that they would be good for breeding

I used white/cream on prada (Whose a bay) was told as she had a long back (Mare) it help makes it look shorter :)

Yep.. this will make her stand out more, rather than blend. but yea if its just pc just use what you have got,

Up to you, the same colour as the gear is correct, but either would be fine, if the pony isn't flashy, a cream one may be better to break up the block colour,

Does he have any white markings?
Except on a grey, I wouldn't really use cream unless you're using a lampwick girth aswell, and whether I'd use lampwick would depend on what markings :P For me anyway :)

I have a bay pony which I will be showing this season he has black gear should I use a black sheepskin shaped saddle blanekt or a cream one? :)
