Love the Optimax dressage saddle!

just looked at a prestige hippo.  any good?  sounds ideal so far - cut back head, freedom through the shoulder, good for short legged people like me, fits tbs well ....

Have you talked to Sue at saddle4you.co.nz?
Or perhaps Chris at Horsesports could help, also Sharon at Canterbury Equestrian is very knowlegable and stocks a number of different brands of saddles.

could you get a maestro that almost fits changed to flair? We tried hundreds of saddles on my hunter, nothing really fitted but he's wearing a simple collegiate now with flair and it fits like a glove

he does fit a maestro but i need an 18".  they never seem to come up for sale and bates no longer make them :'(

I think one of my friends is selling an 18" - I'll ask her and get back to you

Any chance a 17.5inch could be okay? There are a couple on TM atm.

i've just brought a 17.5" for tui, but tai really needs the 18" - thats why i sold all my maestros to begin with :(

]have you tried any of the Stubben dressage saddles?

no, but its knowing which ones to try - i haven't seen any with cut back heads or that are even remotely wide enough

these are the dressage saddles: http://www.stuebben.com/start.php?lg=gb ... amp;top2=9
and gullet sizes can go up to a 34 (or 33.5, can't remember which) which which is like an xx-wide

demo saddles are available in a 31 gullet, but you can get a 32 to try out.
and the dressage saddles available in nz are the maestoso and the genesis, the portos will be coming soon
