For getting a swollen throat down? It's incredibly painful and I can't breathe or swallow properly - I woke up this morning by choking on saliva coz I couldn't swallow it down, and I have to swallow several times to get one mouthful of water down properly 
I've been taking strepsils plus (2x antiseptic and anaesthetic) and they make it feel better but don't actually see, to be helping haha. Any ideas? |
I had this happen to me, it turned out to be tonsillitis, which went away with sleep and rest:]

Been taking heaps of high dose vit c and sambuccus and I took some gees linctus before bed and was out to it fro 11pm til 9am when my alarm woke me up to get ready for an appointment with the physio guy So happy it's almost gone! Now I've just got the snuffles and a funny voice

Nope neurofen does nothing for me anymore but I've had codiene and diclofenac which is the same sort of thing I think (pain killer & anti inflamatory?)

random but i have a friend whos allergic to pineapple and that sounds like what happens to him

11hpg11 RR Addict (1184) | omg i went to the docs with the same thing the other week, i couldnt sleep because i couldnt swallow and kept gagging, got some sort of antihistamine to take the swelling right down, then just rest, lemon honey drinks etc till i was over the cold.

Hot salty mouthwash is great, as hot as you can handle! Tastes dreadful but works. Be careful with dehydration, it sneaks up on you (I had to go to hospital over summer because I couldn't keep anything down even water and it sucked). If you can't drink much, try drinking one of those electrolyte drinks so what you do get down is helping, or just plain water with a teaspoon each of salt and sugar. If you can eat, you need potassium too, as that goes when you are dehydrated, so try a banana. Hope you feel better soon! |
Thanks, will give that a go, I'm still drinking heaps it's just taking a whole lot of effort

That sounds awful
Yesterday I almost chucked mucking out Angel's paddock (managed to swallow it) and had a real sore through and this morning I woke unable to breathe Then when I got up I went and got some beet to soak and was sweating and puffing by the time the bucket was full with water
