Sort of - they are Portuguese - related to the PRE Spanish horse & Lippizaners but in a seperate studbook managed by the Portuguese. Both are Iberian horses and a very ancient purebred breed, but my understanding is that the Spanish & Portuguese split in the 1960s & bred slightly different qualities into the breed. The combination of a PRE and PSL is a PSP (Purebred Spanish Portuguese horse). The foal sitting down in the pic is a PSP... his dam is PSL Lusitano & his sire is a PRE Spanish horse!
