Winners of the Ike Unsworth promo - 28 April 2009
Over the past 2 months NRM has run a promotion to win a free show jumping lesson with NRM sponsored rider Ike Unsworth. Simply buying a bag of NRM feed from a selected Farmlands store in the Waikato/BOP area during the promotional period was all that was required to enter the draw and the response was phenomenal. Eight lucky winners were chosen to have a lesson with Ike on either the 18th or 19th of April.
Both days started with a morning tea for NRM and Ike to meet and greet the riders. After everyone had their fill of muffins and scones the first two riders for the day went down to the arena for their lesson while the latter group had a discussion with NRM about equine nutrition. After the first group of lessons were completed everyone made their way back to the stable for a BBQ lunch courtesy of NRM. While eating lunch all riders were presented with an NRM prize pack which included a saddle blanket, vest, scoop, beanie and hat.
Upon completion of a comprehensive lunch the second group of riders were sent to the arena to receive instruction from Ike. The following is a comment from Kylie at Mount View Sport Horses. ‘They (the riders) all seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves and were all very grateful for all the NRM gift packs they received. Quite a few of the riders travelled a long distance to get here and I was really happy to see how much they all seemed to get out of their lessons, as most of them were recreational riders that had not done much jumping’.
NRM would like to congratulate the riders who participated in the event and thank Ike, Kylie and everyone Mount View Sport Horses for allowing us to use their expertise and brilliant facilities.
