Ike Unsworth had a terrific HOY, despite not having his World Cup Horse Seremonie, who is out through injury.
Ike, Kylie and the Mount View Sport Horse team took out the 7yr old title on Wimbledon MVNZ, a fantastic achievement.
In the 1.35m Horse of the year class Whittaker MVNZ jumped 3 faultless rounds to take out the win in this class. This was also a great win as there were a lot of good horses in this class and many that had more experience than Whittaker MVNZ.
Kylie Drummond comments:
“Slowly getting back into the swing of things after a fantastic Horse of the Year Show. We all had a wonderful week down in Hastings and the horses jumped great.
Our main goal leading into Horse of the Year was to come home with the “7 yr old of the year” title which we managed to achieve. Wimbledon MVNZ took out the 7 yr old title which was a great thrill for us as both 7 yr olds have been very consistent all season.”
Vanessa Way on KH Arvan has given an impressive performance especially provided that this is their first season at Grand Prix and just the second horse Way has trained to this level.
Vanessa was second in the CDI*** GP and second in the overall Dressage Horse of the Year.
Shiwon Green on Gosh also had a fantastic HOY, demontrating some of the weekend’s best passage and piaffe work.
Shiwon was 4th in the CDI*** GP, 4th in the CDI*** Kur and 4th overall Dressage Horse of the Year!
Shiwon Green comments:
“Well, finally coming back down to earth after our fabulous time at HOY [...]. Have had tones of positive feedback. With the scores we gained at this show we would have won the Grand Prix last year and gained a close second in
the freestyle. What this means is that it is not just exciting times for me personally but also for the entire dressage community as our sport as a whole is developing.
I look forward to taking you all along for the ride in the seasons ahead...”
